At Spout Springs we look to make a difference in everything we do--even if it's just the coffee we drink. And Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee has transformed the simple act of drinking coffee into an opportunity to make a difference.
Following years of civil war and genocide, the Rwandan economy was a shambles. Jesus Followers looking to make a difference recognized Rwandan farmers raised excellent coffee, but couldn't make enough from a week's work to buy a single cup at a US coffee shop. So they formed a co-op, helped the farmers improve their methods, and now the farmers are making a decent living selling their coffee directly to churches like ours.
A commitment to excellence has brought dignity and hope to Rwandan farmers. And with the hope, power of forgiveness is spreading through the hills of Rwanda. By drinking Rwandan coffee, we are providing a platform for divided people to come together and forgive each other in the name of Christ.
