Nancy Shoemaker
Nancy Shoemaker joined the Army right out of high school. Three duty stations later, she found herself at Ft. Sill, Ok where she met her husband, Paul. They married in December, and two years later, their one and only daughter, Alyssa, was born.
After serving in the Army for 7 1/2 years, Nancy followed Paul to Ft. Bragg where she started working at a local church in Fayetteville. After serving there for over ten years as full-time secretary and in various other volunteer positions (VBS director, Nursery Director, Children's Director, and Sunday School teacher for various youth and children's classes), a sign for www.newchurchon87.com appeared on Highway 87.
After driving by the sign several times, with her then-14-year-old, and commenting that she needed to check the web site out, she received the advice from Alyssa: "Why don't you? We have internet at home!" With that statement, she did check it out, attended the second service at the Mission Building, and has been with the church ever since.

And she has been a God-send. Her passion and talents for Children's ministry were apparent from the church's first preview service, and she has led the children's ministry from day one. After working as a volunteer for the first few months, she came on board as a part-time children's director/part-time secretary in 2008 before moving to full-time children's director in 2009. She now leads a team of over a hundred volunteer children's workers, keeping excitement high and making Spout Springs a church children want to attend.
