Teaching

At Spout Springs, we believe teaching is composed of three conversations.
Conversation 1 is between the speaker and God. It should start well before the message so by the time the speaker hits the stage he has a firm conviction of the Biblical message God wants to communicate, including how that message can impact the lives of the people who hear it.
Conversation 2 is between the speaker and the audience. Because it's a conversation, no two sermons are ever the same, even on the same weekend, with the same speaker, addressing the same points.
But the most important conversation is number 3. This is the conversation occuring between the individual members of the audience and God (hopefully inspired/instigated by the first two conversations). While Conversation 2 can inspire people to change behavior, Conversation 3 changes lives.
